Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc clashed at the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix with the seven-time World Champion calling out his team-mate’s mentality.
Things got heated at Ferrari during the 71-lap race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Sunday.
Leclerc had tried to make an aggressive pass on Hamilton that comprised the Briton against eventual race-winner Max Verstappen and earned the Monegasque a five-second penalty for his troubles.
After the race, Hamilton questioned Leclerc’s mentality, suggesting he had squandered a potential 1-2 for Ferrari over his personal ambitions.
Rosberg, however, who was involved in his own hostile rivalry with Hamilton at Mercedes between 2013 to 2016, believes the Briton has been quick to shrug off blame too many times now with his team-mate.
“Interestingly, it’s always Charles’ fault, isn’t it? It’s never Lewis’s fault,” Rosberg told Sky Sports F1.
“In the last couple of times, in Monza it was Charles, here it was Charles. Really Fred Vasseur, he needs to start to act.”

Rosberg suggests written rules of engagement for Ferrari after F1 Mexico GP clash
Hamilton had suggested earlier this season that the team did not have proper guidelines for intra-team battles after his clash with Leclerc at Monza.
The Ferrari driver made similar comments at Mexico. This has prompted Rosberg to suggest a change in approach from the Scuderia to handle two combustible drivers in the future.
“Once again, as Lewis said before the race, there was no discussion. Like clear racing guidelines between the two. It needs to happen, otherwise it’s going to keep going like this,” he added.
“It gets really bad when the drivers take it in their own hands and disregard whatever has been discussed and just take it in their own hands and sort it out on track and barge the other guy out the way. That can very quickly happen and it’s already kind of happening.
“On the first wheel-to-wheel that they had at Turns 2 and 3, Charles was bouncing over the kerb into Lewis, he was not holding the line. So already that was too much from Charles.”
Heading into the race weekend at Interlagos, Ferrari sits second in the Constructors’ standings.
