Alpine conducted a private Testing of Previous Cars [TPC] test at Monza this week, but proceedings were briefly truncated after the driver hired suffered a minor shunt.
The Enstone-based squad has enjoyed a good start to the 2026 Formula 1 season, more than doubling its 2025 points total, taking 57 through Pierre Gasly and a much-improved Franco Colapinto.
Its A525 chassis, which spent much of 2025 at the back of the order, was put through its paces once again at the ‘Temple of Speed’, at the hands of an F1 debutant.
Ugo Ugochukwu, who is currently unattached to a team after leaving McLaren’s academy last year, was tasked with driving the car, coming off the back cementing his Formula 3 title lead in Barcelona.
The American driver currently holds a slender six-point lead over Campos Racing teammate Theophile Nael, having taken victory in the opening round in Australia in March.
Ugochukwu suffered a minor off into the barrier, and handed the Alpine mechanics a routine repair job to the car.
The Macau Grand Prix-winner has a chance to extend his lead in the standings this coming weekend, as F3 arrives in Austria over the Grand Prix weekend.
