Andretti Global has announced that it will retain the driving services of Marcus Ericsson for next season.
The Swede has driven for Andretti since 2024, and will remain with the team for at least a fourth year in the #28 entry.
Ericsson has been finishing races much better this season than the previous two with Andretti, and he has six top 10 finishes so far.
Both sides appear to feel the momentum, and agreed to a contract extension for next year.
“I’m really excited about the contract extension,” said Ericsson. “I think it’s been a good year for us. We’ve really been turning things around after last year, and we’ve put in a lot of hard work, and that’s really been paying off.
“The results haven’t always gone our way this year, but I feel like we’ve been competitive and in the mix on every type of track. That makes me excited for next year and to be able to build on the momentum we’ve created this year. So, I’m super excited about that.
“I’m very thankful to Jill [Gregory, Andretti president], Dan [Towriss], Cassidy [Towris] and everyone else on the team for the trust they’ve put in me and for believing in me.
“Now we’re going to finish this season strong, put our heads down and come back even stronger next year.”
Ericsson sits ninth in the points standings with two thirds of the 2026 season complete. 2027 will be his ninth in IndyCar following five seasons in F1 from 2014 through 2018.
The other two seats of Andretti’s three-car line-up have already been confirmed, and Ericsson will continue to drive alongside Kyle Kirkwood and Will Power in the new year.
