How much will Gasly earn at Alpine?

Pierre Gasly’s contract details have been revealed in a French report ahead of his switch to the Alpine Formula 1 team in 2023.

According to Sportune.fr, Gasly will take in an estimated €15 million (£13.2m) next year, placing him as one of the sport’s top earners.

It is believed that his 2024 salary will depend on the number of races held during the season, but his income for next year will mirror that of Fernando Alonso’s this year.

Gasly will replace Alonso at the team, after the two-time World Champion opted to switch to Aston Martin for 2023.

Alpine explored a number of candidates for his replacement and settled on Gasly, who was released from his Red Bull contract early.

Gasly has spent several years in F1 racing for the Red Bull set-up, mostly with AlphaTauri, the sister team to the front-running squad.

He took his first career win at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, and currently has two more career podiums to his name.

According to Sportune.fr, Gasly pocketed an estimated €4-5m (£4-5m) in 2022, which was set to shoot up to €10m (£8.8m) for 2023.

Gasly will be part of an all-French line-up for Alpine, as he will partner Esteban Ocon at the team, who is contracted until the end of 2024.

Gasly is reportedly tied down to Alpine on a two-year deal, with an option for 2025 existing.
