Kimi Antonelli has had his fourth-placed Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Sprint race finish taken away after a rules breach.
The 2026 F1 Championship leader came into the 19-lap race at the Miami International Autodrome, slotted onto the front-row alongside Lando Norris.
That said, the perennial W16 race-start issue impeded his progress, with the 19-year-old dropping places off the line.
He eventually found a steady rhythm and consolidated P4, at the chequered flag, after a feisty battle with Mercedes team-mate George Russell.
But Antonelli’s exploits on track – chasing Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for third – saw him push his W17 into uncomfortable territory, and out of track limits far too often.
The Mercedes driver had already accumulated three track limits infringements mid-way the race earning him a black-and-white flag.
Naturally, his fourth infringement meant the Stewards imposed a post-race five-second time penalty – dropping him from fourth to sixth in the final classifications.
This means the duo of Russell and Max Verstappen have been elevated by one position.
Antonelli has lost ground as a result of his penalty in the Miami Sprint; his lead atop the driver’s standings, to Russell, has also now shrunk to only seven points.
