The Spaniard was able to back up his impressive form in FP2 and FP3 where he finished fastest to once again top the timesheets in qualifying with a time of 1:20.294.

Verstappen split Sainz from his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc in third with just 0.067s covering the top three.
The session saw the use of the Alternate Tyre Allocation, with Hards mandatory in Q1, Mediums in Q2 and Softs in the top-10 Q3 shootout.
