Christian Horner was paid upwards of £100 million by Red Bull after he was dismissed as the Formula 1 team’s Team Principal and CEO.
Horner was relieved of his duties by the Milton-Keynes-based team in July last year.
The Briton’s dismissal came hot on the heels of an ‘inappropriate behaviour’ allegation from within the Red Bull team as well as the dwindling performance of the RB21 out on track.
A report from RacingNews365 has revealed that in its corporate disclosures to the UK Companies House, Red Bull revealed the severance package it had to endow to Horner for getting him out of the hot seat.
Horner was a director of both Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technologies and therefore, both these individual corporate entities had to compensate him for “loss of office”.
Red Bull Racing paid him £33.494 million for his ousting, along with his annual remuneration of £4.441 million.
On the other hand, Red Bull Technologies had to cough up a staggering £66.988 million in addition to £9.029 million as directorial remuneration up until his dismissal.
This made Horner the highest-paid managerial member of the team.
Since his departure from the paddock, however, Horner is keen to get himself back into the mix, with the Briton angling up potential projects to lead in F1.
