Lando Norris retired from the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix after being wiped out in a collision between Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly.
Norris was left fuming after he bowed out of the 51-lap race on the streets of Baku, after a collision between the Alpine pair of Colapinto and Gasly.
The McLaren driver, who was running in the top 10, was collected by the A526 of Gasly at the Safety Car restart.
Heading into Turn 1, Colapinto locked up trying to dive down the inside of the squabbling party and dashed into the Frenchman.
Gasly then careered towards the MCL40 of Norris who was punted into the barriers and out of the race.
“Yeah, I think the FIA should be more strict and start handing out bans for this kind of stuff,” he told media including Motorsport Week after the incident.
“It’s just careless from people. It costs a lot of money, all my parts are in the bin now.
“People should just get banned from driving, that [rule] deserves to be in Formula 1.”

The Safety Car restart saw George Russell maintain his lead into the tricky first corner.
The Mercedes driver had left the restart late, meaning the pack had bunched up together as they picked up speed.
Norris refused to attribute this to Colapinto‘s mistake, insisting that such errors are not expected from people who are considered as the “best drivers in the world”.
“George can do what he wants. In Formula 1 I think you expect drivers to anticipate things,” he added.
“Grip is going to be low, tyre temps are low; they weren’t even that low.
“In Formula 1 we want to be against the best drivers in the world when stuff like this happens. It shouldn’t be there.”
After the race weekend at Baku, Norris has fallen further behind in the title fight, now trailing championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli by a massive 116 points.
