Red Bull confirms structural changes for 2027

Red Bull has officially announced Gianpiero Lambiase’s replacement for the 2027 Formula 1 season and beyond.

Earlier this season, F1 was rocked by the news of Lambiase’s exit from the Milton Keynes squad. The Briton, who has been Max Verstappen’s long-time race engineer, confirmed he would make the switch to McLaren by 2028.

Whilst the move started speculation surrounding Verstappen’s future, the Dutchman confirmed his long-term future with the team, announcing a contract extension until 2030, ahead of his final home race at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Importantly, Red Bull has confirmed a new signing to fill Lambiase’s shoes following his departure. The outfit has signed Tom McCullough as its new head of racing, bringing a wealth of experience from across the Formula 1 grid to Milton Keynes.

“We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the team at the beginning of 2027. And look forward to the wealth of experience and expertise he will bring to the role,” Red Bull confirmed in a brief statement.

With stints with Aston Martin and its predecessors, Force India and Racing Point, McCullough’s reputation precedes him. It marks a pivotal moment for the team, who have lost several key personnel over the past seasons. McCullough’s extensive experience could prove vital.

The 2027 season will mark a new chapter for Red Bull, an opportunity to rebuild and maintain a competitive advantage over its rivals.
