Rafael Câmara snatched a dramatic pole position at the Belgian GP, mastering a chaotic and interrupted F2 Qualifying session.
The drama ignited immediately when the green light released the field onto a damp track on Supersoft tyres. Drivers struggled for tyre temperature, and Noel Leon was caught out on cold rubber, spinning cresting the hill past Raidillon. The resulting Red Flag halted the session. Leon managed to resume but faced a post-session investigation for causing the stoppage.
Once flying laps began, Leon set an early baseline, which was instantly shattered. Nikola Tsolov surged to the top before Alexander Dunne delivered a blistering 1:57.124 to steal provisional P1.
A second Red Flag froze the field when Laurens van Hoepen ground to a halt on the start/finish straight.
With 50 seconds left on the clock, a frantic final shootout commenced. Leon and Tsolov traded top spots before a flying Câmara fired in a superb 1:56.306 to secure pole position. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak launched a late attack but narrowly missed out by 0.039 seconds to finish second, leaving early pacesetter Dunne to settle for third at the Belgian GP.
