After it was revealed that Ferrari would take its 2026 Formula 1 car around the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix circuit, footage of the historic moment has been captured.
Yesterday, Motorsport Week and other outlets reported that the Scuderia would be using one of its obligatory ‘filming day’ tests, as per F1 rules, on the circuit, which is still not yet completed.
The SF-26, bolted with non-race spec tyres – part of the filming day rules – was taken out for a spin around the Madring – a hybrid street and purpose-built circuit – with many locals trying to get a look at an F1 on its tarmac for the very first time.
Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were behind the wheel, the pair set to return to the circuit in September, when the race is scheduled to be held.
The Madring has seen major steps taken in its development, with the track taking tremendous shape, vindicating the stance of its General Manager, Luis Garcia Abad, who exclusively told Motorsport Week that he had “no doubt” that it would be ready to host the race.
This came after Motorsport Week published exclusively-obtained photos of the circuit, taken in March, of the complex still requiring a great deal of work.
