Ivan Ortola overcame a long lap penalty to claim his maiden Moto2 victory via a last corner overtake at Brno.
Ortola was awarded a long lap after causing a collision during the Hungarian GP, but had the best pace of the race as he overcame David Alonso at the final corner to take his first victory.
Polesitter Alonso made the best start and easily held onto the lead down into the first corner.
Ortola also made a good start to the race and attempted to keep tabs with Alonso, before he was forced to take his long lap penalty.
Ortola continued to have the pace and quickly regained the ground after serving his penalty, setting the fastest lap of the race to close in to just over half a second on Alonso.
The race settled with reasonable gaps maintained between the top three groups, with Alonso and Ortola holding a comfortable margin over Guevara in third.
The gap continued to grow as the Spaniard duelled with Senna Agius for the third, which allowed home favourite Filip Salac to join the fight.
However, Alonso’s pace dropped entering the final third of the race which allowed Ortola to close in, although the Spaniard was unable to find a way through.
The trio behind also closed in, with Salac taking an opportunistic move to get into third and allowed the Czech rider to rapidly close in on the top two.
Ortola attempted his first move for the race lead with four laps remaining, but Alonso was able to respond immediately into the next corner.
The two managed to break away from Salac on the final two laps, with the pair battling onto the final lap of the race.
In the final corner, Ortola made his move and forced Alonso wide, having the momentum as he crossed the line to take his first win in Moto2.
Alonso had to settle for second, while Salac held on to a podium finish in front of an adoring home crowd.
Agius took the chequered flag in fourth ahead of team-mate Manuel Gonzalez, who overcame a nine place grid drop to complete the top five by 0.033s over the fading Guevara.
Dani Holgado finished seventh ahead of Joe Roberts and Celestino Vietti, while Jose Antonio Rueda completed the top 10.
Collin Veijer narrowly took 11th over Daniel Munoz, with Alex Escrig crossing the line in 13th.
Taiyo Furusato earned his first Moto2 points in 14th, while Zonta van den Goorbergh rounded out the points finishers in 15th.
