Oscar Piastri swapped four wheels for two in his off-week Formula 1, watching the ever dangerous Isle of Man TT with his manager, Mark Webber.
The TT is well known as one of the most dangerous motorcycle time trials in motorsport. It travels through 37 miles of the Isle of Man, all on public roads that are closed off for the event.
Webber came to Instagram to share his thoughts of the day, alongside a video of him and Piastri behind a wall. With a daringly close view as bikes came past, he said: “Always a privilege taking people for their first time to the @ttracesofficial. Never fails to impress them the display of sheer courage.”
In Webber’s video, Piastri looks back at his manager with an impressed look just after one of the bikers pulls a wheelie while navigating the track’s characteristic jumps.
Piastri brands thrilling TT ‘not what I expected‘
Piastri shared a video of his own, too, as he first wound his way through narrow gaps and fences, admitting he was going through someone’s garden and said: “apparently this is *the* spot to watch.”
It was different for Piastri, the Australian, taking a step back from a difficult 2026 F1 season to enjoy something that requires incredible skill and bravery to complete. The lap itself is two and a half times as long as the Nurburgring.
“I don’t know what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it,” Piastri confessed as he watched the bikers.
The Australian even admitted, as they went past, shaking his head, “These guys are nuts.”
However, it wasn’t just an opportunity to watch the action for the Australian. He spent the day seeing inside the garages and meeting the bikers. He shared photos on social media, including clips of him at the start line.
Piastri admitted that it ‘won’t be the last time’ he attends the events, as he takes advantage of his time off from the F1 season.
