Max Verstappen has revealed he is exploring an entry for the 2027 24 Hours of Daytona race, following his recent exploits at the Nurburgring.
Verstappen is exploring a possible life away from Formula 1 in 2026, with forays into GT racing.
His latest venture saw the four-time world champion take on the Nurburgring 24 hour race, almost winning the famous event.
But Verstappen has been quick to shutdown speculation that he will return to the green hell in 2026.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Verstappen confirmed his intentions: “Outside the Nordschleife I think not.”

However, Verstappen has revealed another GT race is now on his radar: the gruelling 24 Hours of Daytona.
He confirmed that should he wish to enter the 2027 event, sweeping changes would need to be made to his off-track preparations and training programmes.
“If I wanted to do that, I will have to adjust my entire training programme to it, though,” he said.
“Normally I start preparing for the new season in January. I would then have to adjust that. And I will also have to discuss it with my family.”
The Dutchman also confirmed that entering Daytona remains an aspiration rather than a cemented target, revealing one specification of car continues to interest him.
“It is an idea at the moment, but not concrete yet. I still have plenty of time to think about it. But I would love to do it. And then again in a GT3 car, I think, not in the fastest GTP class.”
The genie is now out of the bottle in the case of Verstappen’s fast developing love of Sportscars.
That he is already targeting entering American races highlights the real possibility that he could quit F1.
