Jaguar TCS Racing has revealed its Formula E Gen4 development car, the Jaguar ‘GEN4 proto_TYPE’ and its distinct, Monaco-inspired livery for testing.
The British marque has confirmed its commitment to GEN4 and the all-electric series, and was in fact the first manufacturer to do so, back in 2024.
With over 20 race victories and 50 podiums, the team hopes to continue their success into the new era of Formula E.
The livery depicts the various speeds of the previous FE cars. It’s shown in data-driven lines that map out the Monaco FE track.

Jaguar’s simulator shows that the GEN4 car is predicted to reach 277km/h through the tunnel before breaking into the chicane. This speed puts the newest generation 80km/h faster than the first generation.
The GEN4 cars will run from Season 13-16. Taking Formula E into a new era with nearly double the power and all-wheel drive.
The ‘raw speed’ of GEN4
Ian James, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, said: “We’re excited to unveil the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE as we continue our preparations for this exciting new era of Formula E.
“Our unique testing livery not only reflects Jaguar TCS Racing’s time competing in Formula E, but the huge technological and performance evolution through ten years of racing.
“Formula E is the perfect platform to enable Jaguar to be at the forefront of EV technology innovation, and GEN4 represents another step-change for the championship.
The raw speed of these all-electric cars is incredible. We cannot wait to showcase the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE on track.”

Jack Lambert, Head of Technical Integration at Jaguar TCS Racing, also spoke about the team’s ambitions and goals. With the series entering its biggest change in a year. “Jaguar TCS Racing’s key objective is that we race to innovate. We have proved that throughout our time competing in Formula E. The pinnacle of electric motorsport.
“The GEN4 era represents a huge opportunity for Jaguar. As a manufacturer, we’re always learning through the development of our own competition powertrain.
The expanded manufacturer perimeter for GEN4 will enable us to remain at the forefront of innovating EV technology on track for next generation of all-electric Jaguar road cars.”
Jaguar, along with all other manufacturers, will put its new car through its paces at Paul Ricard next week, as part of Formula E’s official launch of the Gen4 machine.
