Nissan has announced that former World Champion Oliver Rowland and Zane Maloney will form its driver lineup for Season 13 of the FIA Formula E World Championship.

Rowland extends his stay with the Japanese manufacturer on a multi-year deal for a fourth consecutive campaign.

The Briton, who won the Season 11 Drivers’ World Championship with Nissan, finished fourth in the standings last season with six podiums, including a victory on the streets of Monaco.

Maloney joins Nissan for his third year in the all-electric series after spending his opening two campaigns adapting to Formula E at Lola following a successful junior career in Formula 2.

Nissan Formula E Team Principal Tommaso Volpe believes the pairing balances proven title success with fresh potential.

“We’re delighted to confirm Oliver and Zane as our driver line-up for Season 13,” Volpe stated.

“Oli has been an important part of our Formula E journey, having joined the team as a rookie back in Season 5.

“Since then, he has gone from being a young driver to becoming a World Champion with us, and we’re very happy to continue that relationship as we enter the GEN4 era.

“Zane brings a different profile. He’s young but already has two seasons of Formula E experience, and we believe there is a lot more to come from him.”

Partnering experience with youth at Nissan

Rowland expressed his enthusiasm for heading into the technical reset alongside Nissan and his new teammate.

“I’m delighted to continue with Nissan for our seventh season together and fourth consecutive one with Nissan Formula E Team,” Rowland said.

“With the GEN4 car coming in, we’re going to see a big step in performance and it’s something we’re really excited for.

“I’m looking forward to Zane joining the team, he’s had a great junior career and two years of experience in Formula E, which puts him in a good position to start Season 13 strongly.”

For Maloney, joining a manufacturer with a championship-winning lineage marks a significant milestone in his Formula E career.

“I’m very excited to join Nissan Formula E Team,” Maloney added.

“When I came into Formula E, the team was winning the championship with Oli, so it’s a great chance for me to now join a top manufacturer.

“I’ve spent the last two seasons with a new team, developing my skills and trying to get the best results we could, so I’m really looking forward to taking this next step in my career.

“It’s also a great opportunity to be teammates with Oli.”

The duo will begin track preparations for the GEN4 era during pre-season testing at Circuito del Jarama on November 16–20.
