Jos Verstappen has rubbished claims from former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher that his son Max is lacking a crucial advisory figure amid the current Red Bull personnel exodus, branding them as “bulls**t”.
Max Verstappen is no doubt suffering at the moment, given the current underwhelming performances from the Red Bull’s RB22 machine, along with his own discontent with F1’s new regulations cycle.
And the Dutchman’s woes have been exacerbated by the announcement that race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase will leave the team “no later than 2028” to join staunch rivals McLaren.
Verstappen has been vocal with the current unhappiness at the general situation, prompting speculation that he could retire at the end of the season.

With Lambiase following Will Courtenay and Rob Marshall to McLaren, as well as the high-profile departures of Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, as well as former Team Principal Christian Horner and adviser Helmut Marko, Red Bull is not quite the place Verstappen will be used to.
This prompted Schumacher, who works as a pundit for Sky Germany’s F1 television coverage, to surmise that the four-time World Champion is “missing Marko as a figure to give some kind of guidance” at the Milton Keynes-based squad.
This prompted Verstappen Sr, not someone who is shy in offering his thoughts, to take to social media.
“Ralf talks a lot off [sic] bulls**t,” the former Benetton and Arrows driver wrote.
There is no doubt that Verstappen appears to be on some sort of precipice with making a decision on his F1 future.
Although he has signalled threats to quit the sport altogether, who could rule out the possibility of finding solace, and success, with another outfit on the grid?
