Formula 1 has just unveiled the official trailer for the much-anticipated film titled F1, starring Brad Pitt.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the sports action drama picture will be released in theatres in June 2025, bringing the Grand Prix experience to cinema audiences around the world.
Pitt plays a retired F1 driver from the 1990s who makes a return to the sport with the fictional racing team, Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP), to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce – played by Damson Idris.
The trailer begins with a voiceover from Javier Bardem’s character, Ruben, as flashbacks of Hayes’ career racing in F1 and IMSA are presented.
The soundtrack for the trailer features a remixed version of the iconic song, ‘The Chain’, produced by Fleetwood Mac – which was previously used as the theme tune for BBC and Channel 4’s television coverage of F1.
The film is set to be released before the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix.
The trailer also focuses on the dynamic between Hayes and Pearce as they both encounter each other for the first time in their careers.
Struggling to get along, the pair appear to come to blows on and off the track.
The Apple Studios film, made in collaboration with Lewis Hamilton’s Dawn Apollo Films, is also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer – who worked on Top Gun: Maverick with director Kosinski.
