WTRAndretti’s Jordan Taylor topped the second free practice session for the IMSA SportsCar Championship‘s Petit Le Mans season finale.
The second out of three free practice sessions for IMSA’s 11th round provided useful conditions to prepare for qualifying amidst other objectives.
This is because at approximately the same time tomorrow, teams will take on qualifying for Petit’s 27th running.
During the 1-hour and 25-minute FP2 session, competitors across four categories continued their preparations after FP1.
Daniel Goldburg was the first to take a brief off-track excursion at Turn 4.
The #22 United Autosports USA Oreca 07 LMP2 continued back to the pits.
Other LMP2s were finding their limits such as Jakub Smiechowski and his #52 Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Oreca.
The 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2 winner spun at T5 and continued.

Unlike the previous round at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, Road Atlanta offers fewer tarmac run-offs.
Furthermore, Atlanta’s fast and winding circuit requires drivers to stay within the track limits as grass defines the two distinctly.
Elsewhere, Harry Tincknell’s #64 Ford Mustang GT3 (GTD Pro) incurred a flat tyre at T8. He returned slowly back to the pits.
A brief red flag was called as a loose wheel was in the gravel trap at Turn 10 and was quickly retrieved.
