FIA Formula E has announced it will move its global logistics headquarters from the Donington Park Circuit to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.

In an statement released on their website, Formula E have said the move “is coupled with an ambitious expansion of the Circuit, transforming it into a cutting-edge development hub for the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.” Formula E say the move will provide further sustainability in its freight logistics, due to the closeness to the city’s port, reputed to be the fifth busiest in Europe, adding: “The move underscores Formula E’s unwavering commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.”

With interest and popularity in Formula E growing, the move also sees the series make a statement of intent in relation to its future progression. The circuit will be FE’s permanent testing track and the location for dedicated office space. The initial move to Valencia will see FE’s logistics team base itself in a temporary location connected to the circuit, but will eventually move into “a dedicated facility that will centralise and streamline its freight and technology development.” The timing of the move will no doubt provide FE with a significant base for the progression of the forthcoming Gen4 car, due to be released in 2027.
