Jerome d’Ambrosio continued his strong start to the second double-header of Formula E’s Berlin E-Prix finale, topping FP2 at the traditional Tempelhof Circuit.
The Belgian started the series’ third day of competition after a five-month hiatus with the second-fastest time, however, in the 30-minute FP2 session, powered through to the fore.
His 1:06.723s run around the 2.355km-long venue was 0.109s clear of the field as BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Maximilian Guenther trailed in second, a mere 0.034s in front of Jean-Eric Vergne who fronted DS Techeetah’s efforts in third.
Sebastien Buemi returned to the top 10 for Nissan e.dams. His 1:06.879s run was worthy of fourth for the Franco Japanese squad as Nyck de Vries completed the top five which was covered by a mere 0.177s.
Runaway championship man Antonio Felix da Costa managed only sixth in what has been a dominant performance from the Portuguese racer thus far, encountering front tyre locking issues over the course of the final practice window ahead of qualifying later today.
Sergio Sette Camara followed in seventh with Lucas di Grassi who returned to the podium on Thursday – was eighth for Audi. Alexander Sims meanwhile ensured a double top 10 performance in ninth while Stoffel Vandoorne completed the top 10.
Jaguar Racing again wound up outside the top half of the field of 24 as Mitch Evans secured the 13th quickest lap, 0.396s off the pace.
