Formula 1 has communicated its broadcast plans for the 2020 pre-season period at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

All 10 Formula 1 teams will be in action across the six days of testing, which will run from February 19 to 21 and February 26 to 28, at the Spanish Grand Prix venue.

Running will take place from 09:00 to 18:00 each day, with a one-hour lunch break at 13:00; teams are permitted to field one car each day.

Live coverage of each session will be available on F1TV Pro, along with Sky UK and Sky Italia, which is jointly producing the broadcast in association with Formula 1.

An official press conference will be held during each lunch break and will be available to viewers on Formula 1’s catch-up service.

Formula 1 will also produce post-session round-ups to analyse proceedings and provide technical insights, with ex-Renault driver Jolyon Palmer set to front a post-test programme dissecting the respective weeks.

Under revised regulations introduced for 2020 teams are no longer permitted to use screens or close the garage doors during test sessions, aside from in the event of a crash or a technical failure.

Formula 1 also revealed that it will introduce a “much richer” live timing page on its official app, which will enable users to “evaluate the performance [of a driver] in each segment of the track.”

F1TV commentator Alex Jacques will front the broadcast coverage while presenter Will Buxton will host the daily round-ups.
