Williams confirms date for FW43 digital launch

Williams will unveil its Mercedes-powered FW43 during a digital reveal on February 17, just two days before pre-season testing gets underway at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The Grove-based outfit endured a torrid 2019 season – its worst in Formula 1 – after only scoring a solitary point at the German Grand Prix.

Williams suffered greatly with a recalcitrant car in 2019 and was off the pace of the midfield.

It was announced on Tuesday that new key personnel will be joining the team with David Worner taking up the role of Chief Designer while Jonathan Carter will act as Deputy Chief Designer and Head of Design.

The FW43 will be raced by Mercedes junior George Russell, entering the second season of a long-term deal, and he will be joined by Formula 2 runner-up and 2019 tester Nicholas Latifi.

Ferrari is currently set to kick-off launch season on February 11, with Renault (February 12), McLaren (February 13) and Mercedes and Alpha Tauri (both February 14) following suit the same week.

Racing Point will unveil its 2020 car in Austria on February 17 while Haas will launch its latest challenger in the pit-lane on the opening day of pre-season test, as will Alfa Romeo.
