Lando Norris posted the fastest lap of the opening practice session for the Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix with a lap time of a 1:11.717 as Rafael Camara made his debut for Haas at Interlagos.
The McLaren driver edged newly-crowned 2026 F1 World Champion Andrea Kimi Antonelli by just 0.082s as the chequered flag fell on FP1 at Interlagos.
Six out of the 11 teams on the grid used the session to run their mandatory rookie outings with the likes of Freddie Slater, Luke Browning, Gabriel Mini, Leonardo Fornaroli, Colton Herta and Dino Beganovic getting some useful mileage in an F1 car.
Mini impressed, leading the rookies with the seventh fastest lap of the session. Camara, who will replace Esteban Ocon at Haas from 2027, got an early taster of a full Grand Prix weekend experience, making his debut in place of the Frenchman for his home race.
The 21-year-old finished 18th for the Banbury-based team.
