Ferrari reveal 'very early' launch date for 2020 F1 car

Ferrari have confirmed a "very early" launch date for their 2020 Formula 1 car, which they believe will be the first launch of the season.

During a media lunch at Maranello, attended by Motorsport Monday group editor Joe Saward, Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto confirmed a February 11 launch date for the as yet unnamed car.

The launch is four days earlier than its 2019 car, which launched on February 15, and eight days prior to the first pre-season F1 test, which begins on February 19 at Spain's Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

"We will launch the car very early," Binotto said during the lunch. “I think we will be the earliest."

Binotto confirmed the car is its final design and homologation stage, with crash tests scheduled for early February, followed by further dyno testing.

Ferrari will retain its current driver line-up of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc and will be hoping its 2020 car delivers its first title since 2008.
