MotoE confirms rescheduled June pre-season test date

The all-electric MotoE World Cup has confirmed a rescheduled test date of June 17 as part of revised plans for the championship after a fire ripped through the paddock building in March.

The fire destroyed all 18 Energica Ego machines and forced a delay to the start of the season, pushing it back to July from an original date of May.

MotoE and Energica have been working hard to get the World Cup back on track and expect to have all new bikes ready for the three-day test, which will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on June 17-19.

The test will see riders starting from the grid to familiarise themselves with race starts and gain experience with the setup of the new machines.

The final day will include an E-pole simulation to trial the qualifying format followed by a full race simulation in the afternoon, giving riders a chance to practice overtaking and run through various strategies.

There's added motivation to win the test race too, with Energica awarding the winner with their very own Energica Eva bike.

The season begins at the Sachsenring in July with the second round now taking place during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
