Alex Lynn: Jaguar Racing atmosphere adds confidence for Formula E comeback
Alex Lynn has said that the atmosphere at Jaguar Racing following last weekend's Rome E-Prix adds confidence in his full-time Formula E comeback after making a return to the championship in the Italian capital.
Lynn made his Formula E debut at the Season Three New York City E-Prix with DS Virgin Racing before embarking on a full-time outing with the Richard Branson-backed team for Season Four.
Experiencing a difficult rookie season, Lynn lost his drive at Virgin to Robin Frijns, with his departure from the British team leaving him without a drive for the present 2018/19 campaign.
Replacing Nelson Piquet Jr at Jaguar, Lynn made his Formula E comeback in Rome and performed admirably for the British marque, qualifying in ninth place before getting relegated to the back of the grid after exceeding power usage limits, later fighting back through the field to take 12th.
While Lynn missed out on a top 10 finish, Mitch Evans delivered Jaguar with its maiden Formula E victory to become the all-electric single seater series' seventh different winner in seven races.
Reflecting on the clear pace of the Jaguar I-TYPE 3 package that was displayed in Rome, Lynn stated that the atmosphere within the team gives him a lot of confidence going forward, optimistic of securing high finishing positions in his second Formula E chance:
"First things first, I have to say a huge congratulations to Mitch and the team – my first race with the team and they pull off a result like that is all credit to them and the pace of our racecar," said Lynn.
"I honestly feel like with the pace we have with the Jaguar I-TYPE 3 – demonstrated obviously through Mitch’s result, but also through me climbing nine places through the field today – going forward, both Mitch and I will be competing for serious points for Panasonic Jaguar Racing.
"It feels amazing to be back in the ABB FIA Formula E, with this racecar and with this team, the atmosphere is amazing, it gives me a lot of confidence."
