Mercedes has teased a handful of images which show its 2023 Formula 1 car being built at its factory.

The car, named the W14, hopes to bring Mercedes more success than its predecessor which lagged behind the front-running competition throughout the 2022 campaign.

Mercedes secured just one grand prix win during the year courtesy of George Russell in what was its least competitive year in the turbo-hybrid era to date.

The 2023 car will be unveiled on February 15 next month.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff conceded last year that the car appears “exactly” like the 2022 version, but has been assured by engineers that “it’s very different underneath”.

Therefore, it is likely that it will keep the ‘zero sidepod’ concept that turned heads at pre-season testing last year.

The car will also incorporate floor changes that are mandatory across the grid in response to porpoising, a problem that Mercedes in particular suffered with during 2022.

In addition to the floor changes, F1 roll hoops will be strengthened at all teams following Zhou Guanyu’s frightening crash at Silverstone last year.

Check out the images shared by Mercedes below.

Mercedes will run a driver line-up of Lewis Hamilton and Russell once more – however it has lost a key figure in James Vowles from its strategy team, who has joined Williams as Team Principal.

After losing reserve drivers Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne, Mercedes hired Mick Schumacher to fulfil the role after he was dropped by Haas at the end of 2022.
