Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have ended their boycott of the British broadcasting channel Sky Sports F1 following comments made by Ted Kravitz after the United States Grand Prix.

The team’s boycott stretched to all regions of Sky’s broadcasts with Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland also having their media access revoked.

The actions came after Ted Kravitz suggested that Lewis Hamilton was robbed of his eighth Drivers’ Championship in 2021 when Verstappen came out of Abu Dhabi with his first Formula 1 crown.

When asked about the boycott at the following race in Mexico City, Verstappen explained: “This year it’s been a constant, kind of like daily, being disrespectful, especially one particular person. And it’s enough, I don’t accept it.

“You can’t live in the past, you just have to move on. Social media is a very toxic place, and if you are constantly being like that on live TV, you make it only worse instead of trying to make it better.

“You keep disrespecting me, and at one point, I’m not tolerating it anymore. That’s why I decided to stop answering them.”

It was reported in the days leading up to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend that Sky Sports F1 had sent personnel over to the Red Bull Racing headquarters in Milton Keynes in order to clear the air.

Upon arrival in Brazil, Verstappen answered a question from Sky F1’s David ‘Crofty’ Croft in the Thursday Press Conference which was in turn answered by the two-time champion.

Verstappen later cleared up his comments with: “Yeah, we drew a line under it. So we just keep on going.”
