The stewards at the British Grand Prix have opted not to investigate Sergio Perez for his robust driving towards the end of the British Grand Prix.
At the end of lap 45, Perez was attacking Charles Leclerc for second place, and attempted to move ahead of the Ferrari driver around the outside of Turn 16.
However, he cut the corner and stayed of Leclerc, while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton capitalised and progressed ahead of both Perez and Leclerc.
Just a handful of corners later, Perez overtook Hamilton and pushed the seven-time World Champion off the track to take the position.

The stewards noted both of the incidents, but opted not to investigate the matter, meaning that Perez keeps his second-place result.
Hamilton crossed the line in third, with Leclerc having to settle for fourth after being shuffled back at the Safety Car restart on old, Hard tyres.
The stewards also noted an incident between Max Verstappen and Mick Schumacher, as the duo battled for seventh place late on in the race.
However, like the previous ruling, the stewards have opted not to investigate Verstappen for his racing discipline.

If a driver pushes another off the track, that is unfair racing and should be penalised, no matter who they are.
The inconsistency of applying this rule is bringing F1 into disrepute. have they not learned anything from last years rules fisaco?
If they are not going to apply the rules consistently, get rid of the rule. It would make things more dangerous but fairer as everyone will know where they stood.
If they truly want fair and safe racing, apply the rule consistently, no forcing a car off the road (leave one car width) and no gaining an advantage by going fully off track.

I’m also surprised how Max got away with it. He forced Mick on two occasions. One obvious one which was when he forced him off the track on the last few laps and again aggressively closing the last corner and not leaving a space before the chequered flag. I think the first one was more warrant of a penalty. I don’t understand how a steward can just opt to take a blind eye to an incident and have the option to just not investigate. That is their job. I was hoping for more points for Mick but He was two cautious with Max as he can’t afford any accidents and maybe he was instructed to bring the car home safe at any cost. Hass should protest.

I agree Max and Perez are given one set of rules and everyone else another. Perez clearly gained an advantage and by his post race interview was fully expecting a fifth place finish. Ferrari once again cost Charles points. Mick and Kevin did a good job for Hass even though they were forced into cautious racing by their bad luck prior to today. 🏁Carlos deserves a well done also.
And what about Lecler in the the restart crashing into Perez in an impossible move? I agree with Max vs Mick, that one was dirty, the other is racing, c´mon.
Exactly, it feet really strange how in Silverstone we suddenly seems to be back to this “let them race” philosophy.
Pushing people off-track is ok and the driver on the inside dictate the trajectory and can close the door. Or like Perez cutting a turn and getting an advantage is fine because it’s part of a wheel to wheel fight and look nice on TV.
I don’t mind, but it’s just the opposite of what was clarified in Monaco only 3 race ago. Ocon got a penalty for not letting space when Hamilton was never side to side. Now people are doing way worse and are not even investigated.
It’s really frustrating how sporting rules seem to change every weekend. And it feel really unfair and bias based on who is doing what, and how all the drivers across the grid don’t seem to have the same tolerance to penalties.
The FIA lack of consistency didn’t change at all since last year, they don’t seem to have learn anything and still look incompetent weekend after weekend.
Seems we now pick up where we left off last year. If it’s a Red Bull car we will do what it takes to give you a free pass on any rule infractions, unless it benefits others more then we will penalize them more than Red Bull. It certainly seems like Red Bull just get a free pass on everything
Funny how they can opt not to I investigate is the rules then so loose..its even worse than last year . I guess it leaves the option to be bribed
The relationship between red bull and the FIA is already more than suspicious… This almost indicates corruption.
You mean like Mercedes did in 2021?
For me it seems to be like a joke on Verstappen pushing a well driving newcomer like MSC off the track to gain nearly 0 plus of the action while risking an accident. Unnecessary, far away from a professional. Really bad competition.
What a joke, I’m just glad everybody is healthy after this RB actions.
