The FIA has outlined where it will be monitoring track limits at this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The region hosts the final round of the 2021 campaign, which will see either Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton crowned world champion.
Changes have been made to the Yas Marina Circuit this year, with two chicanes removed in a bid to improve overtaking opportunities.
Track limits will be observed at Turn 7, the exit of Turn 15 and at the exit of Turn 16. Any lap time achieved during any practice session or the race by leaving the track at Turn 7 and Turn 15 will result in the lap time being deleted.
Should a driver be found guilty of exceeding track limits at Turn 16, which is the final corner, that and the following lap time will be deleted.
On the third occasion of a driver failing to successfully navigate the corners during the race, the driver “will be shown a black and white flag” and “any further cutting will then be reported to the stewards”.
