A number of Formula 1 drivers have unveiled special, one-off helmet designs for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.

Formula 1 returns to the streets of Monte Carlo for the first time since 2019 after last year’s grand prix was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

McLaren will run a new car livery for the weekend in partnership with Gulf, as the Woking-based squad is using the famous blue and orange colours of the oil company.

McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris will sport new helmet colours that tie into the Gulf-inspired car livery.

Elsewhere, Williams is celebrating its 750th grand prix weekend in Monaco, with its drivers George Russell and Nicholas Latifi wearing new lids.

The colour of both helmets is predominantly blue, which has been a significant shade for Williams throughout its decades-long association with F1.

For Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, who will take part in his third home race as an F1 driver, has also adopted a blue helmet livery, tributing compatriot Louis Chiron, 90 years on from his Monaco Grand Prix victory.
