Mike Conway leads the 8 Hours of Bahrain with 30 minutes of racing completed after a low key start, while GTE Am has already seen plenty of action.

Conway started the #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid and maintained the lead at the start, already building a comfortable gap back to the #8 Toyota in the hands of Sebastien Buemi.

In LMP2, Paul di Resta has maintained the lead in the #22 United Autosports ORECA 07-Gibson, while Andre Negrao has taken second place in the #36 Alpine A470-Gibson by passing the #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA 07-Gibson of Will Stevens, who sits third.

The top spots in GTE Pro have remained unchanged from the start. Kevin Estre leads in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19, with Marco Sorensen second in the #95 Aston Martin Vantage AMR. James Calado holds third in the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.

GTE Am had been the class where most action has taken place thus far. Paul Dalla Lana started the #98 Aston Martin Vantage AMR from pole position, but was overtaken by Salih Yoluc’s #90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage AMR at the start of the race. The two have been battling over the class lead ever since, although Yoluc has opened up a gap of some two seconds.

Behind them, 2019 Bahrain winner Ben Keating has moved the #57 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR into third by passing Bonamy Grimes’ #62 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. Grimes then dropped to the back of the field after contact with Egidio Perfetti’s #56 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR, which sent Grimes into a spin. Neither driver was penalized for the incident.
