Barcelona and Monza have officially been confirmed as the final two rounds of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, replacing the planned events in Qatar and Bahrain due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The revised calendar was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council after organisers had outlined the proposal to teams during the 6 Hours of São Paulo. The 6 Hours of Barcelona will take place on 16-18 October, before the championship concludes with the 6 Hours of Monza on 6-8 November.
Barcelona will host a WEC race for the first time, although the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya previously welcomed the championship’s 2019-20 Prologue test. Monza, meanwhile, returns to the calendar for the first time since 2023, replacing Bahrain as the season finale.
Both replacement events will be held over the standard six-hour distance, meaning they will award regular championship points rather than the 1.5x points originally scheduled for the Qatar and Bahrain rounds. This reduces the number of points still available in both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ title fights.
The traditional post-season Rookie Test, which is usually held after the Bahrain finale, will also not take place this year. The 2026 FIA WEC season now concludes with four remaining rounds: Circuit of the Americas, Fuji Speedway, Barcelona and Monza.
