Antonio Felix da Costa fronted the classification of FP1 for the third round of Formula E’s six-race Berlin E-Prix finale, heading Jerome d’Ambrosio.

The DS Techeetah pilot – who holds a firm 68 point lead in the Drivers’ Championship after three consecutive victories – set a best lap of a 1:06.831s to front the field of 24 which will race on the traditional anti-clockwise configuration of the Tempelhof track.

D’Ambrosio emerged as the Portuguese driver’s nearest challenger, only 0.084s shy of the best overall time while, after taking four points from the first double-header, Edoardo Mortara recorded third for ROKiT Venturi Racing.

Sam Bird, who finished on the podium in the first leg, was fourth for Envision Virgin Racing while Alex Lynn continued to impress for Mahindra, completing the top five for the Banbury-based squad.

An impressive run from Neel Jani saw the Swiss racer front Porsche’s efforts as he found an early advantage over team-mate Andre Lotterer, with the pairing taking a 6-9 result.

Mercedes EQ was the fulling in this Porsche sandwich, with Nyck de Vries taking seventh while Stoffel Vandoorne clocked in eighth, 0.417s off the pace after showcasing impressive racecraft earlier in the week.

Maximilian Guenther completed the top 10 for BMW i Andretti Motorsport after a dismal start to the finale which has been formed by one disqualification and a DNF.

Outside of the top 10, Berlin Race 2 runner-up Sebastien Buemi was 12th while Mitch Evans again fronted the efforts of Jaguar Racing in 13th – the Kiwi searching for the British marque’s prior pace after a difficult start in the German capital.
