Suspected intercooler issue benches Vettel from FP1

Sebastian Vettel (GER) Ferrari. British Grand Prix, Friday 31st July 2020. Silverstone, England.

Sebastian Vettel’s preparations for the British Grand Prix took a dent after Ferrari detected a suspected intercooler problem in his SF1000.

Vettel completed only two installation laps at Silverstone before returning to the pit lane, where Ferrari wheeled his SF1000 back into garage before starting work on the car.

Ferrari confirmed that it had “detected something wrong” with the intercooler system and as a precaution is stripping down the car to undertake a thorough analysis.

It is expected that Vettel’s car will be ready in time for the second practice session.
