Williams has presented its revised 2020 Formula 1 livery, following the exit of erstwhile title partner ROKiT, ahead of next weekend’s season-opening Austrian Grand Prix,
ROKiT joined Williams as title partner for 2019 and last summer agreed a revised multi-year deal but in May it was announced that the relationship had been terminated with immediate effect.
No reason was provided for the termination but ROKiT is expected to link up with reigning World Champions Mercedes.
Williams presented a new livery, with the addition of red to its white and blue, prior to pre-season testing in February this year but the departure of ROKiT required an amended design.
The new scheme, which is predominantly white with blue shading, was presented on Friday.
Mercedes junior George Russell and rookie Nicholas Latifi, whose promotion from a test role has brought sponsors Sofina, Lavazza and Royal Bank of Canada to the team, will race for Williams in 2020.
Formula 2 racer and ex-Renault junior Jack Aitken holds the position of reserve driver should either Russell or Latifi become unavailable.
Williams is in the worst slump in its 40-year history as it scored just one point last year, courtesy of the departed Robert Kubica, to finish at the foot of the Constructors’ standings for the second straight season.
The operation announced in May that it was seeking fresh investment, and potentially a new owner, after posting financial losses, though Williams stressed it had enough funding to complete 2020.
