Luke Browning will once again take the wheel of the Williams FW48 in Formula 1 free practice, taking both race drivers’ cars in Mexico and Brazil respectively.
The Grove-based squad‘s reserve driver has already had two outings with the car across this season and will now complete the allocation of four FP1s at the next two rounds.
Browning, who shares reserve duties alongside Frenchman Victor Martins, has also been competing in the Japanese Super Formula series, having moved from Formula 2.
The young Brit will take Alex Albon’s car in FP1 for this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix, and will take Carlos Sainz’s next weekend in Sao Paulo.
This time, however, will be the first Browning will complete in the upgraded FW48, complete with the lighter chassis.
“I’m happy to be back in the FW48 and grateful to be trusted by Atlassian Williams F1 Team with all four of the team’s rookie FP1 sessions this year,” Browning said.
“It’s a great opportunity to get more laps in the car, while building my understanding of the new package and bringing useful data and feedback back to Grove.
“Each session teaches you something new, and I will take every bit of learning I can from this to help keep pushing my development and the team forward.”
