Renault is to return to Formula 1 action next week after arranging a two-day test at the Red Bull Ring for Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon.
Formula 1 teams have gradually returned to work in the wake of a mandatory 63-day shutdown period due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The season-opening grand prix has been arranged for July 3-5 at the Austrian venue, and Renault will take to the track with its 2018 car, as permitted under Formula 1’s regulations.
Ocon will pilot the R.S.18 on Tuesday before Ricciardo gets behind the wheel on Wednesday.
Ocon is embarking on a third stint at the team after his 2014 spell as a test driver and 2016 phase as reserve, prior to making his race debut with Manor.
Ocon has not raced competitively since his last grand prix for Force India in November 2018.
Ricciardo is entering his final season in Renault colours after confirming last month that he will leave to join McLaren for the 2021 campaign.
Formula 1 teams are permitted to hold tests in two-year old cars or run a filming day in their 2020 machines, so long as they have not already used up their two-day allocation, in which 100km is permitted on Pirelli’s promotional tyres.
Teams are taking the opportunity to get drivers back to race sharpness as well as practicing social distancing and other hygiene measures that will be implemented at grands prix.
