McLaren will run a special livery on the MCL40 during the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, bringing fan artwork onto the grid.
The Woking-based team is set to run a one-off livery during the race weekend at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Designed in collaboration with sponsor Velo, the MCL40 will don a striking and unique fresh lick of paint inspired by fan-submitted artwork.
The livery is set to incorporate stickers and other design elements submitted by the supporters of the team.
McLaren has been at the forefront of integrating its fanbase, heritage and history onto its cars with many remarkable special liveries in the past.
Malky Brown, Global Head of Content & Partnerships at BAT, said, “Every sticker tells the original story of a real fan dream, which is a powerful reminder that fandom isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s personal, creative and unique to every fan.”
“Through Live Your Fandom, Velo is helping turn those unique fan stories into unforgettable moments, giving them a place at the heart of the Mexico Grand Prix.”
Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Racing, added, “The Papaya Family is united by a shared passion for all our sport has to offer, and this special livery puts their stories at the heart of the team.
“By bringing individual ideas together in one collective design, we are celebrating the creativity of our fans on one of the biggest stages in motorsport.”
McLaren currently sits fourth in the Constructors’ standings, tied on 355 points with third-placed Red Bull.
