Sergio Perez believes the Marina Bay Street Circuit may prove to be the “last chance” Cadillac has to score its first points in Formula 1 this season.
The General Motors-backed project has endured a crude reality check in its maiden F1 campaign.
While the team is being led out on track by a pair of proven Grand Prix winners, it still has not scored its first championship points.
Heading into the Singapore GP weekend, Perez is of the strong opinion that this might be the “last chance” for the team to get themselves into a points-scoring position at the chequered flag.
“It’s a good opportunity for us,” he told media including Motorsport Week.
“Probably our last one to do something important, given the delta we currently have with the car and that we are not bringing anything.
“It’s probably our last good chance to try and get a strong result here. That will be a crucial one for us.”

Sergio Perez reveals Cadillac ‘tension’ over Singapore Sprint format
This weekend at Singapore will be the first-ever Sprint race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The track has been notorious for its technical complexity, and getting only one practice session on Friday before proper running kicks off with sprint qualifying is cause for concern for Perez.
“It [the sprint format] puts a little bit more uncertainty on the weekend, a little bit more tension,” Perez added.
“On a street circuit, at a race that is so hard to get the confidence [to] build up, the driver can make a bit of a difference in these sort of weekends.”
The Mexican racing driver believes he is up to the task; though, he concedes Cadillac will need to “overdeliver” if it wants a good grid position for the race on Sunday.
“Normally on a circuit, it takes you a bit of time to get up to speed. So, one practice into qualifying, it’s good,” he concluded.
“We will give everything we have. We have to, especially for qualifying, we need to be able to overdeliver massively to get something.
“Baku was a good example. Hopefully, here can be a bit of the same.”
Perez has a strong record at Singapore, having won the race with Red Bull back in 2022.
