Lewis Hamilton fires back at sensational Ferrari media allegations

Lewis Hamilton has issued a firm rebuttal of reports in Italian media that he has pressed Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur for a staff overhaul at the Scuderia.

Hamilton has enjoyed a far brighter 2026 season than his debut campaign with the Maranello-based squad last year, having taken one victory and a further four podiums.

The Brit had been considered an outsider for the World Championship until last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, when brake failure saw him retire early, leaving him 99 points behind leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Hamilton has previously talked about dialogue with Team Principal Vasseur in regards to changes within the team, and has also enjoyed a more frutiful relationship with race engineer Carlo Santi, who replaced previous engineer Riccardo Adami prior to the season starting.

Italian publication Corriere della Sera has suggested that Hamilton has continued this approach, alleging that the seven-time World Champion has been angling for Ferrari to make further personnel alterations.

But taking to his Instagram story, Hamilton swiftly rebuffed this report.

“I’ve seen some of the stories that have gone out and I want to clear it up here. I’ve never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced,” he wrote, with a photograph of a group of Ferrari staff members accompanying his words.

Hamilton continued: “Everyone I work with works hard every day, and their dedication is what moves us forward.

“I always try to empower and lift people to be the best versions of themselves or at least see the best in themselves.”

Hamilton will be looking to make a return to form next weekend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with Ferrari still aiming to make a game of the remaining rounds of the championship against its Brackley-based counterparts.
