The thrill of racing doesn’t stop when the engines switch off. In fact, for many fans, gaming is where the action really begins.

Today’s titles range from ultra-realistic simulators to arcade racers and even casino games inspired by motorsport culture.

Whether you’re chasing lap times, cruising across open worlds or spinning reels, here are a few games that will keep the revs building.

When people talk about serious sim racing, iRacing is almost always part of the conversation.

This sim has been around since 2008 and is all about competitive online racing. Players subscribe to access the service and can expand their collection with additional cars and tracks. Drivers are ranked using a detailed rating system that ensures balanced races. Combined with strict driving standards, it creates one of the most authentic racing environments in gaming.

Mario Kart World

Not every racing game needs to be serious though.

Mario Kart World proves that sometimes the best racing moments involve banana peels, wild shortcuts and a bit of friendly chaos. Released for the Nintendo Switch 2, the game expands the familiar series with an open-world structure and new racing modes. The core idea remains the same: colourful characters, unpredictable races and plenty of reasons to argue with your siblings.

Assetto Corsa Competizione

Another favourite among sim racing fans is Assetto Corsa Competizione. Developed by Kunos Simulazioni, the game focuses on GT racing and realistic driving physics.

Each car behaves differently, with accurate handling characteristics and detailed sound design. Players can jump into GT2, GT3 or GT4 cars from manufacturers like Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Mercedes-AMG. The tracks are laser scanned, which means circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and Silverstone feel authentic. Add in adjustable driver aids and difficulty settings, and the game works for both experienced sim racers and newcomers.

Drive: Multiplier Mayhem

Racing themes don’t stop at traditional video games. They’ve also made their way into the world of casino slots.

Drive: Multiplier Mayhem from NetEnt is one of the most recognisable examples. The slot is inspired by street racing culture and features multiplier wild symbols shaped like speedometers. These can stack together across paylines, increasing potential winnings. For players browsing top slots online, it’s one of the more high-speed motorsport titles around, especially thanks to its Nitro Boost free spins feature where players unlock extra spins and wilds through a race-style progression system.

Mad Cars

Mad Cars takes the racing concept into a dystopian future.

Developed by Push Gaming, it’s set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with vehicles and aggressive mechanics. Instant Prize symbols can carry multipliers up to 100x, while a Boost Reel adds extra bonuses and movement to the grid. Trigger the Mad Bonus feature and things get even more chaotic, with free spins and additional prize symbols potentially leading to big payouts.

24 Hour Grand Prix

Another slot inspired by racing is 24 Hour Grand Prix by Red Tiger Gaming.

The game’s visuals revolve around classic motorsport imagery, including classic race cars and a Monaco-style circuit. Its Super Wild mechanic can replace two adjacent reels with wild symbols, increasing win potential. Free spins are triggered through Race Spins symbols, and during the bonus round low-value symbols disappear from the reels, leaving only high-paying race cars.

Final Thoughts

The world of racing games is bigger than ever. Some titles go for realism, others focus on fun, and a few take the motorsport theme in completely different directions. Whatever you prefer, there’s always another race or spin waiting.
