Audi has unveiled multinational neobank firm Revolut as its title sponsor ahead of its maiden Formula 1 season next year.
The German marque is preparing to make its first-ever steps into F1 in 2026, transitioning from the current Sauber squad.
So far, it has been quiet on the front of partners for the forthcoming campaign, aside from a reported deal with Adidas as an apparel partner.
But today’s Revolut revelation sees the team land a major brand to adorn its cars as it takes to the track for the first time.
“With Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition,” said Jonathan Wheatley, Sauber and soon-to-be Audi Team Principal.
“This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance, engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport.”
Gernot Doullner, Audi’s CEO, said: “Audi is entering Formula 1 with a clear ambition: to use the platform as a technologically relevant and economically sustainable investment in the future of the Audi brand.
“We firmly believe in the success of our project, which we are approaching with a realistic attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement.
“In Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our ambitions and attitude. Formula 1 is a global stage that offers us the opportunity to reach new target groups together and generate enthusiasm for our products.”
Revolut, which boasts over 60 million customers, will take over from online gambling firm Stake, which has been title sponsor for Sauber for the last two years.
It is thought that the partnership will incorporate new ways for fans to interact with the sport, with the hope of enticing new customers with benefits for users.
