The Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team has revealed three special liveries that will adorn its fleet of cars at next month’s Indianapolis 500.

Each car has a design that calls back to a historic race win for McLaren, with the three victories collectively completing the manufacturer’s achievement of the Triple Crown of Motorsport.

The liveries are part of McLaren’s year-long celebration to commemorate the team’s 60th anniversary.

For the entire Month of May, the #5 entry of Pato O’Ward will feature an all-black livery in honor of the F1 GTR that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, with little details such as a placard design around the car’s number plates adding to the theme.

Driving the #6 entry, Felix Rosenqvist will run a livery reminiscent of the iconic MP4/2 livery that won Monaco in 1984. The white and papaya livery is a bold look that many fans will instantly recognize.

Alexander Rossi will run a full papaya scheme on his #7 entry to commemorate McLaren’s maiden Indy 500 victory in 1974, with only a bit of blue highlights around the Aeroscreen to distract from the team’s signature color.

The three drivers also have custom race suits that match their respective cars.

“I am proud to unveil these iconic commemorative liveries, celebrating McLaren’s historic Triple Crown accomplishment for our 60th anniversary,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

“They look incredible and I cannot wait to see our guys race them on track.”

Tony Kanaan’s #66 car will also carry a special livery throughout the Month of May, one which honors the collective Triple Crown achievement by the team. That car’s design will be unveiled on April 19.

McLaren is no stranger to special liveries, and has made a habit of coming up with bespoke designs for the Indy 500 in years past.

Last year’s cars were designed by UNDEFEATED founder James Bond and featured asymmetrical liveries on all three of the team’s entries.

The historic liveries for this year’s Indy 500 will debut during the open test session held on April 20-21, and will be used for the entire two weeks of practice and qualifying leading up the 107th running of the great race on May 28.
