Mucho Más que Motores: Mexico’s star-studded F1 weekend

Qualifying for the F1 Mexico City GP has set up an intriguing race for Sunday
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From global pop royalty and Hollywood favourites to football legends, fashion icons and social-media sensations, Mexico City is preparing for a Grand Prix where paddock glamour rivals the on-track drama. All eyes will also be on youngster Kimi Antonelli, who could make history by becoming Formula 1’s youngest-ever world champion.

When boxing legend Evander Holyfield waved the chequered flag in 2025, the Mexican Grand Prix delivered a celebrity moment worthy of its own spotlight. Previous visitors have included actor Diego Boneta, football icon Sergio Ramos, singers Aitana, Paty Cantú and Gabito Ballesteros, Mexican goalkeeper Jorge Campos, food sensation RobeGrill, creator Juanpa Zurita and DJ Bizarrap. The 2026 edition promises another dazzling mix of speed, music and star power.

The musicians: From rock sisters to Latin pop royalty

Mexican rock sensations The Warning, the Monterrey-born sisters Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra Villarreal Vélez, bring international credentials after sharing stages with Muse and Foo Fighters. Attending Sunday as F1 guests, they add a powerful rock presence to the weekend.

Latin music takes centre stage with Danna, the former Élite star turned pop sensation, and regional Mexican hitmaker Carín León. Brazilian DJ Vintage Culture joins Red Bull Racing, British DJ Guy Lawrence of Disclosure and American producer Diplo, guest of Mercedes, add international electronic music credentials.

Guadalajara rapper Sabino brings his distinctive Sab-Hop sound to the Williams garage. British R&B singer Nippa is also expected, with a House 44 performance listed for Saturday. Santos Bravos, the multinational Latin pop group formed through HYBE Latin America, represents the next generation of international pop and attends as a Mercedes guest on Sunday.

And there is a special connection between music and motorsport: Bad Bunny name-checks Sergio Pérez and Max Verstappen in his song Monaco, while Perez’ career has inspired several musical tributes, including Jary Franco‘s De 0 a 100 Checo Pérez and Carín León‘s Por la Familia.

Evander Holyfield (centre) is expected on race day in Mexico City.

From Hollywood to Mexican television

The entertainment contingent includes American actress and singer Victoria Justice, best known for Nickelodeon’s Victorious, bringing an enormous international following.

Mexican actor Diego Boneta, recognised internationally for his portrayal of Luis Miguel, returns after his previous Grand Prix appearance. Fellow actor Luis Gerardo Méndez, known for Club de Cuervos and Murder Mystery, also joins the celebrity crowd.

Aislinn Derbez, star of Netflix’s La Casa de las Flores, attends Sunday as a Disney guest alongside Jorge Blanco, beloved for Violetta, and Azul Guaita, recognised for Rebelde and Like Water for Chocolate.

Football, basketball and sporting royalty

Mexico’s football heritage will be well represented by Rafa Márquez, the former Barcelona defender and national-team legend, now leading Mexico’s national team in 2026.

Williams welcomes Mexican defender Diego Reyes alongside Colombian actress Viviana Serna, while Argentine footballer Gonzalo Piovi also joins the guest list. American football fans can look out for Isaac Alarcón, whose NFL journey took him from the Dallas Cowboys to the San Francisco 49ers.

Basketball royalty arrives through Juan Toscano-Anderson, the Mexican-American NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, attending as a Mercedes guest. HYROX champion and obstacle-course racing star Hunter McIntyre completes the sporting line-up at Audi.

Alicia Torriani and Thomas Bearman are aoso expected on Sunday

The content creators: Where the social-media fireworks happen

The paddock will also become a digital playground. Among the biggest names are Danna and Victoria Justice, while Mexican actress and fitness personality Bárbara de Regil brings her enormous social-media following.

Food sensation RobeGrill returns after appearing at the 2024 Grand Prix. Famous for his enthusiastic “¡Que chille!”, his celebrity cooking videos have featured stars including Dwayne Johnson, Rosalía and Checo Pérez.

Fashion creators Priscila Escoto and Andy Benavides will bring luxury style to the paddock, while comedy podcast duo José Luis Slobotzky and Ricardo Pérez, hosts of La Cotorrisa, promise plenty of entertainment.

Political satirist Chumel Torres and Disney guest Jessica Marmolejo, known for her circular-fashion and styling content, complete the diverse creator contingent.

The official music and entertainment schedule

Music will provide an additional soundtrack to the racing action. Nippa has a House 44 performance listed for Saturday, while The Warning attend Sunday as F1 guests and Vintage Culture joins Red Bull Racing.

Max and Checo are looking forward to being reunited with Bad Bunny

The real stars

Yet, make no mistake: the real stars will be on the grid. With Kimi Antonelli potentially on the verge of becoming Formula 1’s youngest-ever world champion, the sporting stakes could hardly be higher. Against Mexico City’s electric atmosphere, the roar of the engines, the battle for the crown and the drama of every lap promise to outshine even the brightest celebrity arrivals.

The paddock may glitter with famous faces, but the ultimate stars of the weekend will always be the drivers chasing motorsport history.

At the time of publication, only a limited number of tickets remained, ranging from grandstand seats to exclusive House 44 access at the Paddock Club.
