Max Verstappen is not interested in following the single-seater feeder series blueprint laid down by 2025 Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris.

Norris announced earlier this month that he is going to “give back” to the racing fraternity after incorporating his own junior single-seater team.

The McLaren driver who bought the assets of the AIX Racing outfit, has rebranded the squad as LN4 Fusion.

The team is set to compete in the FIA F3, Formula Regional European Championship and the Italian F4 Championship from 2027 onwards.

Reports also suggest that the reigning F1 World Champion has an F2 entry in the works, subject to approvals by the governing body, the FIA.

Reacting to Norris’ initiative, Verstappen commended the 26-year-old for creating a platform for up-and-coming drivers to fight against the rising costs of going motor racing.

“It’s tough at the moment, costs are rising,” he told media including Motorsport Week.

“So the more you can help them, the better it is. Some real talents, they don’t have a lot of money, so to be able to create these kind of initiatives is great.”

The Dutchman himself has made plenty of efforts to allow aspiring racing drivers to achieve their ambitions of competing at the highest levels of the discipline.

His own team Verstappen Racing currently competes in the spheres of endurance and GT racing. That said, going forward, Verstappen doesn’t envisage dabbling in single-seaters like Norris.

“No, not really, not from my side,” he said when asked he if would like to replicate Norris.

“I enjoy the endurance side of things and combining endurance and Formula cars is very hectic.

“I enjoy more to be on the other side, working with established drivers, but also young guys that are finding that it is a crazy world.”

Along with Team Redline, his sim racing team, Verstappen explained how he is also looking to bring talent from the virtual world onto the real race tracks.

“We can prepare them through the sim company we have as well. We are anyway training a lot of Formula 2, 3 and 4 drivers,” he added.

“I’m very happy with what I’m doing.”

With the 2027 F1 calendar not coinciding with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Verstappen is also eyeing a stint for himself at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe for the 95th edition of the iconic endurance race.
