George Russell to rival Lando Norris with ‘GRandstand’ for Silverstone 2027

George Russell will have his own grandstand at the 2027 British GP.

Lando Norris’ sell-out ‘Landostand’ is set to be joined at Silverstone by a rival one from George Russell – known as the ‘GRandstand’.

George Russell will have his own fan grandstand at the 2027 British GP, taking over Farm Curve for a “prime view” of the first four corners of Silverstone.

He becomes one of many drivers to have a grandstand at their home race, including fellow Brit Lando Norris who will be bringing the fluorescent ‘Landostand’ to Silverstone for the third time in 2027.

Speaking about a potential grandstand at Silverstone earlier this year, Russell said it was something his team were working towards.

“It’s something we’ve spoken about with the team in the past, and it’s probably something we’re working towards for next year.”

“Where I’d like to put it? Lando’s got quite a good spot on the outside of Stowe, so I’ll try and steal it off him,” he playfully added.

Whilst he couldn’t take over Norris’ real estate in Stowe corner, Russell has picked a “really cool” spot on the circuit for his GRandstand.

“I’m really excited to announce that in 2027 for the grand prix, we’re going to have our own GR grandstand. It’s here, on the exit of Turn one. So you can see all of Turn 1, Turn 2, the overtaking spot into Turn 3 and Turn 4, so it’s a really, really cool place on the circuit. It’s one of the best, in my opinion.”

The Mercedes driver is still waiting for his first win at home, having achieved pole at the 2024 British GP but retiring mid-race due to a water leak as teammate Lewis Hamilton stormed to victory. Lando Norris won at Silverstone for the first time in 2025 – the first year he had his own grandstand. Russell will be hoping for a similar story in 2027.
