Andrea Kimi Antonelli went fastest in FP2 for this weekend’s Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix, with Lando Norris signalling hope for McLaren with P2.
The Italian title-leaders 1:45.134s saw him top the timesheets by just under two tenths from the reigning World Champion, who will start the race with a 10-place grid drop.
However, the Woking-based squad will be buoyed by Norris’ lap, which placed him above the sister Merc of George Russell, down in eighth, as well as both Ferraris.
Max Verstappen, fastest in FP1, was third, a further three tenths off Norris, with Isack Hadjar two hundredths of a second adrift of fourth-placed Lewis Hamilton.
Oscar Piastri, in the sister McLaren, was sixth, with Franco Colapinto seventh, and both Racing Bulls taking the final two spots in the top 10.
Spa-Francorchamps’ fast characteristics once again played havoc with Aston Martin, as Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso languished at the foot of the order, the Spaniard almost five-and-a-half seconds off Antonelli’s time.

The session was red-flagged twice, firstly for the clearing of gravel left strewn across the track, and secondly after Pierre Gasly lost the back end of his Alpine on the exit of Turn 14, ripping the rear wing off, as well as damaging the right rear suspension.
For Antonelli, it will have been a much-needed boost after running low in the order in FP1, the teenager looking to get back on track after another DNF at Silverstone.
