Lewis Hamilton topped the first free practice for this weekend’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix, boosting partisan fans hopes at a sunny Silverstone circuit.
The seven-time World Champion’s 1:29.260 was enough to see him take P1 by two tenths of a second from Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
It was a Ferrari third and Mercedes fourth, too, with Charles Leclerc and other home favourite George Russell behind.
Oscar Piastri was fifth, recovering from a mid-practice spin, with Lando Norris seventh.
